Position Summary

The Network Engineer is responsible for the installation and maintenance of the firm’s communication hardware and standards on a global scope.This individual is responsible for maintaining high availability systems for the firm’s current size (1,800 users, 16 datacenters) and evolving such practices and procedures to match the firm’s planned growth worldwide. The infrastructure today includes Enterprise class data centers, Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls, switching, routing, VOIP, SSL VPN, wireless, SD Wan, and related Windows based systems reflecting the mission critical nature of our network. As our needs for system availability, recovery, mobility, and security continue to grow, we expect this role to lead us to our next level of IT capability.

Duties And Responsibilities


  • Physical installation, initial and ongoing configuration, and troubleshooting of all network related equipment.
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
  • Monitoring network engineering performance and ensuring system availability and reliability.
  • Work with existing network infrastructure and management systems and ways to improve efficiency and automation of network services on prem and in Azure.
  • Work within established configuration and change management and documentation policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.


Basic Qualifications


  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Cisco CCNA certification strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of information technology network experience with configuration of LAN, WAN, and Internet protocol technologies required.
  • Must live within a commutable distance to the local office required.


COMPETENCIES


  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
  • Knowledge of Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewalls, VOIP, QOS, wireless standards, DHCP, IPSEC/VPN tunnels, data cabling, software and network management tools in a high availability, disaster-ready environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of networking concepts and LAN/WAN design considerations and interoperability with server and virtualization technologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems in relation to installation, configuration, and general maintenance of network systems.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to collaborate with coworkers and vendors and maintain effective relationships with attorneys and staff.
  • Strong ability to work independently and in a group setting.

SALARY

New York City based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $131,000-$152,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, market data and internal equity. Total compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus and yearly retirement plan contribution.
