SUMMARY:

The CFO will bring strategic perspective and financial discipline to company strategy development and execution and ongoing operations. As a growth platform, the CFO will be critical to providing a strategic and financial assessment of growth opportunities.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA preferred.


Experience:

  • Understand of genetic testing and/or diagnostic market
  • Public company experience as a CFO
  • IPO experience
  • M&A, strategic alliance, and any transactional skill – corporate development
  • Experience in Revenue Cycle Management is preferable
  • Pricing
  • FP&A
  • Network with capital market, bankers, investors
  • Strong fit w/ BG culture, in particular
  • Open to feedback
  • Strong ownership in his/her role
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Fundraising experience (structuring, negotiating, and executing) in public and private markets
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare delivery and reimbursement models
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to present company strategy and performance to a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Performs as a hands-on executive with a command of the details, processes, and team
  • Strong technical acumen across all finance disciplines


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic management of the accounting and finance functions
  • Directing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Recommending improvements to ensure the integrity of a company’s financial information
  • Managing or overseeing the relationship with independent auditors
  • Overseeing financial systems implementations and upgrades
  • Managing relationships with investors and investment institutions
  • Work with senior leaders to efficiently develop budget proposals, provide access to project financial information, and ensure contract/grant compliance and reporting
  • Researches revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement
  • Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments, and evaluate and manage capital structure and fundraising initiatives
  • Monitor business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for earnings calls, the management team, and the rest of the company
  • Identify and manage business risks and insurance requirements
  • Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting and finance staff
