Chief of Staff (NYC)

At Trunk Tools, we are tackling the massive $13 trillion+ construction industry. We’re an exceptional team of serial entrepreneurs, brought together by our shared mission: automating construction. Our founding team (SpaceX, Stanford, MIT, Carta, etc.) has successfully built and deployed software in construction for 140k+ users, millions of users beyond the construction space, and worked on +$2 billion of built-environment projects. We aren’t another out-of-touch tech startup, most of our team comes from construction.

We spent the last few years building the brain behind construction. Now we are deploying workflows/ agents, starting with Q&A document chatbot, to be ingrained in construction teams’ workflows, ultimately to automate construction. Given our immense traction with several Fortune 500 construction companies, we are doubling our team in order to deploy several more agents this year. You will have an opportunity to drive the transformation of a multi-trillion-dollar industry full of waste, risks and inefficiencies.

What you will do and achieve:

• Strategic Ownership: Own the company’s strategy, focusing on product impact on revenue, competition analysis, market analysis, and segmentation. Facilitate strategy sessions, executive meetings, and oversee monthly and quarterly reporting.
• Partnerships & M&A: Drive strategic partnerships and M&A activities, identifying and executing opportunities that align with our long-term goals.
• Investor Relations: Prepare and manage investor meetings, develop quarterly investor and board decks, create pitch decks, and shape the overall investor relations strategy.
• CEO & Company Branding: Manage the CEO’s personal brand and the company’s social media presence, creating content that reflects our values and resonates with our audience.
• Public Relations & Speaking Engagements: Lead the application and production process for Trunk Tools’ speaking engagements, including conferences, podcasts, and sales opportunities.
• Leadership in Company Communications: Organize and run all-hands meetings, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the company.
• Support Marketing Initiatives: Collaborate with the marketing team to produce website and video content that aligns with our branding and messaging.
• Own and Optimize Internal Software Tools: Lead the development and management of internal tools to enhance operational efficiency, align with business objectives, and support company growth.
  
  

Who you are:

• Experience: 2-4 years of experience across startups, partnerships & business development, consulting, or investing (PE/VC).
• Passion: Deep passion for early-stage entrepreneurship, construction, AI, and B2B SaaS.
• Analytical & Presentation Skills: Highly analytical with exceptional presentation skills, able to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights.
• Travel Flexibility: Comfortable with up to 75% travel to meet the demands of the role, including attending key meetings and events.
• Grit: Possesses the determination and resilience to roll up your sleeves and get things done in a fast-paced environment.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong proficiency in PowerPoint presentations.
• Analytical & Quantitative Rigor: Strong analytical abilities, including fluency in Excel for data analysis and modeling.
• Proactivity & Adaptability: Proactive, intense, reliable, and scrappy, with a bias for action and adaptability to change.
  
  

Preferred but not required:

• MBA candidate from a top program (graduating in Summer 2023 or earlier), or extern from a leading consulting firm or similarly demanding corporate/entrepreneurial venture
• Construction, manufacturing, or real estate experience preferred, but not required
  
  

Salary: $130,000- $170,000 + equity

Compensation Range: $130K - $150K
