Our client seeks a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to serve as the strategic partner and right hand to the CEO. This individual will be a key driver of execution, operations, and strategy, playing a critical role in scaling the company and bringing our groundbreaking technology to market. The COO will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring the successful commercialization of the Company's platform, and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the organization.



Core Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:

  • Lead and optimize daily operations across the organization to ensure efficiency, scalability, and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Drive the operational execution of the Company's platform’s commercial launch, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  • Develop and implement robust processes and systems to support the company’s rapid growth, including manufacturing, supply chain, and quality control.


Strategic Execution:

  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to define and execute the company’s strategic vision and long-term goals.
  • Translate high-level strategy into actionable plans that drive company performance and operational excellence.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance the company’s competitive position in the genomics market, including partnerships, product development, and market expansion.


People Management:

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure alignment of team goals with company objectives, providing clear direction and supporting professional development.
  • Cultivate a positive work environment that attracts and retains top talent.


Financial Stewardship:

  • Collaborate with the CEO and CFO on the company’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to manage cost efficiencies and maximize ROI on operational initiatives.
  • Support fundraising efforts by providing operational insights and ensuring the company is positioned for sustainable growth.


Innovation and Growth:

  • Champion a culture of innovation, continuously seeking opportunities to improve and expand the company’s technological capabilities and market reach.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including potential acquisitions, partnerships, and new market entries.
  • Lead efforts to scale the Comany's technology for broader applications in genomics and life sciences, staying ahead of industry trends and maintaining a competitive edge.


Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate operational risks.


Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and investors, to foster strong relationships and drive business growth.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a COO or in a similar senior leadership role within the biotechnology, genomics, or life sciences industry.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling operations and commercializing complex technology platforms.
  • Strong strategic thinking and execution skills, with the ability to translate vision into operational excellence.
  • Expertise in managing and optimizing manufacturing, supply chain, and quality control processes in a high-growth environment.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards in the genomics industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
