Job Title: Chief Risk Officer (CRO)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead the organization’s risk management strategy and ensure comprehensive risk mitigation across all aspects of the business. The CRO will be responsible for developing and implementing risk management policies, overseeing risk assessment processes, and providing strategic guidance to safeguard the organization's assets and reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the organization's risk management strategy, framework, and policies to effectively identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
  • Oversee the risk management function, including risk assessment, risk mitigation, and risk reporting activities.
  • Lead the development of risk management programs and internal controls to protect the organization from potential risks.
  • Monitor and analyze risk trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to proactively address and manage risks.
  • Provide strategic advice and recommendations to the executive team and board of directors on risk-related matters.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure risk management practices are integrated into business processes and decision-making.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and stress testing to evaluate the effectiveness of risk management strategies and adjust as needed.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of risk management reports to senior leadership and the board of directors.
  • Manage and mentor the risk management team, fostering a culture of risk awareness and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Financial Risk Manager (FRM)) are preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in risk management, with a proven track record in senior risk management roles and leadership positions.
  • Extensive knowledge of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex risk scenarios and develop strategic solutions.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, with experience in managing and developing risk management teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management, the board of directors, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
