Are you an experienced engineer who wants to make an impact within a community? The City of Novi seeks an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Civil Engineer (Project Engineer) to assist in developing and coordinating key projects within the City.
The Civil Engineer (Project Engineer) works within the Engineering Division of the Department of Public Works. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating, developing, constructing, and maintaining private and public infrastructure projects. This role involves coordinating departmental and City projects with relevant City staff and consultants, as well as conducting plan reviews and communicating with the public. Some additional key responsibilities of a Civil Engineer (Project Engineer) include reviewing plans and specifications for conformance with the City's Design & Construction Standards and applicable ordinances and regulations, facilitating the bidding process for construction contracts, and reviewing soil erosion and sedimentation control permit applications and plans.
To be a Civil Engineer (Project Engineer), you must possess a bachelor's degree in Civil, Construction, or Environmental Engineering from an institution accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). If you are not certified in EGLE 91 in soil erosion and sedimentation control, you must have the ability to gain certification within the first 6 months of employment. Having a classification of Engineer in Training (EIT) or a State of Michigan Professional Engineering License is also preferred.

Compensation & Benefits: $70,000 - $90,000, depending on your qualifications.
