EDR is seeking an experienced, versatile, team-oriented engineer to fulfill a leadership role in the energy market. The qualified Engineering Service Area Lead – Energy will have at least 10 years of experience in civil or electrical engineering and substantive and successful experience with engineering for renewable energy projects and/or energy transmission projects.


You will, as our Engineering Service Area Lead – Energy, be responsible for a strong team with the potential for significant growth. You will be responsible for operational and strategic leadership in addition to the general management of the team and employees in close collaboration with Project Managers and other discipline leaders. This will require working with Project Managers to strategically evaluate business development opportunities; identifying efficient methods for internal work production; working with and at the direction of EDR Principals to oversee technical engineering deliverables, including development of design and construction drawing and needed QA/QC procedures; preparing reports, calculations, and technical specifications; and projecting/tracking workload and market trends. The position requires a minimum BS in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering along with strong communication and management skills.


This position represents an opportunity to work for one of the leading renewable energy licensing and permitting firms in the Eastern United States and to lead a growing service area for EDR, a well-established and respected firm in the energy market. We are currently providing a full range of services, including siting, engineering, technical studies, impact assessment and permitting, and compliance-related support to many successful and prominent renewable energy and transmission developers.


The anticipated base pay range of $115,000-$140,000 per year is commensurate with experience. EDR reserves the right to pay outside of the target range based on an individual’s education, credentials, skill level and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity, geographic location, and business needs.
