Clinical Team Manager - Leadership in Clinical Research

Description

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Team Manager to lead a team of clinical professionals supporting our clinical studies. In this role, you will ensure that projects are appropriately resourced, staff are well-trained, and objectives are met efficiently.

Essential Functions

  • Team Management: Lead and support your team according to established policies and regulations. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, guiding professional development, rewarding and addressing disciplinary issues, and resolving employee relations concerns.
  • Hiring and Onboarding: Participate in hiring new team members by reviewing candidates and conducting interviews. Ensure that new hires receive thorough onboarding and training.
  • Resource Allocation: Oversee the allocation of resources to clinical research projects by matching staff to studies based on their experience and training.
  • Training and Development: Ensure that your team has the necessary materials, systems access, and training to fulfill their job responsibilities. Manage the execution of training plans and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality of clinical work through regular reviews and evaluations. Identify quality risks and create corrective action plans to address any deficiencies.
  • Performance Metrics: Ensure that staff meet workload and quality metrics through regular reviews and reporting, as defined by clinical operations management.
  • Collaboration: Work with other clinical teams and functional leaders to manage project challenges and enhance customer service.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in organizational quality and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Experience in clinical trials, including a leadership or management role, or a combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Thorough understanding of clinical research regulatory requirements, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to guide and motivate teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of English.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management and the ability to handle competing priorities.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.
