Responsibilities Include

  • Take responsibility for annual marketing plan, strategy and team. Focus should be on profitable growth.
  • Define and implement a multi-channel (telephone sales, direct mail, e-commerce) content and sales strategy to provide the customer with a more an integrated customer experience; yielding increased sales and profit.
  • Develop and successfully implement a marketing strategy and plans supporting customer acquisition, retention and loyalty.
  • Drive all new business development.
  • Work closely with the Sales & E-Commerce departments to align sales and marketing strategies.
  • Oversee the day-to-day implementation of all marketing collateral, including production of multiple campaigns at any one time.
  • Build, manage and coach a high-performing team of strong product, content and creative marketing professionals.
  • Plan and organize marketing functions and operations (product development, creative, copy, web, circulation etc.) and ensure they project the company’s unique “voice”.
  • Direct and support market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data for short- and long-term market forecasts and reports.
  • Build and/or manage databases for collecting consumer transactions and prospecting.
  • Manage marketing budget and expenditures.
  • Conduct through competitive analysis, evaluating their strategies and positioning and devise counter-strategies.
  • Direct circulation strategies for all direct mail/catalog campaigns.
  • Optimize and streamline marketing processes for optimal results and maximum efficiency.
  • The CMO should be hands on and not only able to provide strategic leadership to management but also able to execute in the trenches.

Requirements

  • Senior Marketing executive.
  • 10+ years of hands-on direct marketing experience before growing into a leadership role, having had multiple marketing disciplines reporting to her/him.
  • Successful experience developing B2C & B2B markets.
  • Strong background in merchandising and multi-catalog title creation & management.
  • Experience selling promotional products (apparel, bags, tech, drinkware, etc.) preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing efficient strategies and business plans for all marketing aspects (branding, merchandising, pricing, product promotion, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of market research and data analysis methods.
  • Ability to apply marketing techniques over digital (e.g. web, email, social media) and non-digital (e.g. print, telephone) channels.
  • Experience in managing strategies and deployment of direct mail/catalog circulation plans.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience developing and growing individuals and teams
  • Passionate customer advocacy
  • A leader with both creative and analytical capabilities
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and business software (e.g. CRM).
  • BSc/BA in business administration, marketing, communications or relevant field; MBA/MA will be a plus.
