What You'll Do

As a College Access Advisor, you'll focus on supporting 60 - 65 students using our LEAD (Lists, Essays, Applications, Decisions) Model. Your role involves guiding students through every step of the college application process, from selecting colleges to making informed financial decisions. You'll track student progress using qualitative and quantitative data, with opportunities for advancement based on performance.

Primary Responsibilities

Direct Student Support (70%):

Provide personalized guidance to high school seniors on college lists, essays, applications, and financial aid.

Conduct meetings and maintain regular communication with students to ensure deadlines are met.

Coach students on self-advocacy and overcoming obstacles.

Caseload & Data Management (20%):

Manage and update student records in our database promptly.

Ensure accurate student information and meeting schedules are maintained.

Secondary Responsibilities

Program Support (5%):

Assist in planning and executing Access Program events and workshops.

Support student recruitment and transition into our Success Program.

Organizational Support (5%):

Represent our organization positively within the community.

Collaborate with the Development and External Affairs team as needed.

Work Schedule

You'll work an 8.5-hour shift, including a daily ½ hour unpaid break, and approximately 4-6 Saturdays per fiscal year. Flexibility may be required during peak periods.

Expected Travel

10-20% local travel.

Required

Who Should Apply:

Bachelor's degree and work authorization.

1 - 2 years of related experience.

Strong writing and relationship-building skills.

Commitment to our mission, vision, and values.

Preferred

Fluency in a language other than English is advantageous.

Valid driver's license and access to a car (preferred).
