As a Commercial Construction Superintendent at NexGen Constructors, you will be the driving force behind the successful completion of our construction projects. You will oversee all on-site activities, from planning to execution, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Your role is critical in maintaining the efficiency and safety of our construction sites while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to the project plan, specs, and schedule.
Lead and coordinate the work of all site personnel, including subcontractors and vendors, while promoting a culture of safety and collaboration.
Enforce safety protocols and standards to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.
Monitor work progress and quality, ensuring compliance with all job specs, codes, and standards.
Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, ensuring milestones are met and making adjustments as needed to avoid delays.
Collaborate with project managers and estimators to monitor budgets and control project costs.
Serve as the primary point of contact between the construction site, project managers, and clients, ensuring clear and timely communication.
Proactively identify and resolve potential issues or conflicts on-site to keep projects on track.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of daily activities, progress reports, change orders, and other project-related documents.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction, with a proven track record of successfully completed projects, preferred.
Degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
Strong leadership and team management abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
In-depth knowledge of construction processes, codes, and safety regulations
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Buildertrend) and MS Office Suite
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Proven ability to manage project budgets and schedules while maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction.
