The Commercial Product Report Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing commercial banking data from WAFD Bank’s commercial product suite. This person will analyze various sources and platforms to find and correct anomalies in system data, work with the front-line bankers and analysts to identify the issues, consider better ways to sort and view data, and as needed create comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders across different levels of the organization including the Executive Management Team and Board of Directors. They will collaborate closely with teams such as data, finance, marketing, operations, and human resources to provide data-driven insights that contribute to strategic planning and operational improvements. They will also frequently work with external vendors to assess how data points are generated and evaluating the quality and accuracy of data from both the bank and vendor. KEY FUNCTIONS

This position aids and supports for the commercial banking group as follows

The Commercial Product Report Analyst plays a crucial role in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide insights and support decision-making within an organization. This individual helps to identify gaps, and risks and subsequently clean and validate data that would be provided to the Executive Management Committee, Board of Directors and various State and Federal Regulatory Agencies. Attention to detail is a critical skillset for this role. This includes the following tasks

  • Data Collection and Extraction
  • Extract data from internal databases and commercial product platforms.
  • Works directly with and in regular cadence with the Chief Commercial Banker on these reports and urgent matters that may arise.
  • Coordinates results and provides regular updates on cleanup projects with the Head of Commercial Product, Chief Commercial Banker and Chief Credit Officer of WAFD.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation
  • Identify anomalies and errors in existing reports and identify the source and reason for the error.
  • Must think critically about why these errors are occurring and apply those skills to ensure the source issue is resolved.
  • Work with the front line and vendors to correct errors and ensure collaboration with training teams are addressed to rectify process gaps and ensure errors are not repeated.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.
  • Conduct statistical analysis and predictive modeling to forecast trends and outcomes.
  • Interpret data and translate findings into actionable insights and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Report Development and Presentation
  • Understand the report architecture in all commercial product systems.
  • Help provide training to the front line to allow them to self source data from these reports.
  • Work with vendors to help create custom reports as directed by the CCB and CCO.
  • Work with the data team to create dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Visio, Tableau, or similar software.
  • Create clear and concise reports that effectively communicate key findings, trends, and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
  • Present findings in meetings and discussions, and provide support for decision-making processes.
  • Process Improvement and Optimization
  • Work with CCB to identify opportunities to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and the front-line to implement improvements and enhance efficiency.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in data analysis and reporting.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency through regular quality assurance checks.
  • Adhere to company policies, regulatory requirements, and data privacy standards when handling sensitive information.
  • Adherence to bank policies and procedures designed to comply with Federal regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act and OFAC regulations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics, or business administration.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
  • Proficiency in Excel, and data visualization tools such as Power BI or similar software.
  • Strong working knowledge of nCino, Salesforce, Built, CoStar and Fiserv products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized, with a commitment to data accuracy and quality.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with programming languages.
  • Knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) and data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms.
  • Certification in data analysis or business intelligence (e.g., Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate)
