We are currently looking for a Credit Analyst to join our Commercial Lending team.
Job Summary
This role is responsible for underwriting more complex commercial real estate construction and residential construction transactions with autonomy. This role has the ability and knowledge to underwrite every commercial loan transaction that the bank offers. Additional responsibilities included assisting with the mentoring of junior analysts, process improvement support, assisting in administrative functions as needed and helping inform operations management via various reports. This position can be a level II or Senior, depending on experience.

What You Can Expect To Work On
- Administration/Reporting
- Assists in preparing and ordering appraisals and inspections for all the loan products.
- Responsible for preparing various commercial real estate reports.
- Assists in completing Criticized Asset Reports (CARs).
- Analysis/Due Diligence
- Review borrower financials, spread and complete more complex analysis within Sageworks.
- Responsible for completing Phase I and Lease Reviews
- Review appraisals and analyze real estate performance.
- Underwriting/Loan Reviews
- Responsible for underwriting CRE, CRE construction, and land, lot and development transactions dependent on size and complexity.
- Assists in underwriting residential construction and IRA loan transactions
- Responsible for more complex loan reviews dependent on size and complexity.
- Customer Service
- Ensure excellent and proactive customer service when interacting with internal/external customers, and management.
- Address inquiries or issues within a timely manner.
- Other Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining SLA, quality, and productivity measures.
- Assists in reviewing CA I spreads and memorandums.
- Assists management in audit / exam support
- Assists management with large department initiatives involving systems, processes, and procedures.
- Assists in completing collateral inspections as needed.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or other formal education preferred (with a focus on business, finance, risk management, or other similar area)
- Five to ten years’ experience in commercial real estate underwriting, commercial loan underwriting, construction administration or other related experience.
- Experience in analyzing various project types including multifamily, build-to-suit, residential rental portfolios, phased CRE development.
- Excellent knowledge of commercial real estate lending, regulations and compliance.
- Can calculate and understand a real estate project's profitability and feasibility as it impacts the developer and bank.
- Can manage and prioritize a pipeline of transactions to underwrite with autonomy.
- Highly proficient knowledge and understanding of bank systems, technology, and processes.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent mathematical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills: ability to effectively interact with individuals in all areas of the bank.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills – must be detail-oriented and thorough.
- Can easily adapt and/or align with the evolving landscape and business changes.
- Ability to foster a culture of continuous learning and positive professional development to others.
- Ability to take initiative and be proactive within their work.
- This position will be a hybrid-based schedule with a combination of in-office and remote work.
