CLEAR is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Communications to lead the strategic vision and execution of our communication goals. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in media relations, corporate & consumer communications, and crisis management. The Director of Communications will report directly to the SVP - Marketing, Brand & Communications and will play a key role in shaping CLEAR’s narrative and enhancing our brand reputation.

The base salary range for this role is $170,000 - $190,000, depending on levels of skills and experience.
The base salary range represents the low and high end of CLEAR’s salary range for this position. Salaries will vary depending on various factors which include, but are not limited to location, education, skills, experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of CLEAR’s total compensation package for employees and other rewards may include annual bonuses, commission, Restricted Stock Units

What you'll do:
- Develop and execute CLEAR’s comprehensive communications strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts, serving as the primary spokesperson for media inquiries.
- Lead the drafting and distribution of press releases, media statements, and other communications materials, overseeing approval processes.
- Manage complex communications challenges and initiatives with poise and efficiency.
- Produce high-quality written content with a quick turnaround for various platforms and audiences.
- Measure and enhance brand equity and trust through defined metrics.
- Track media impressions and coverage, evaluating effectiveness and impact.
- Monitor reputation metrics to gauge positive media sentiment and brand perception.
- Grow and engage followership across digital platforms, including LinkedIn.
- Implement and refine crisis management protocols, ensuring proactive management and mitigation strategies.
- Monitor internal communication effectiveness through engagement surveys and feedback mechanisms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in communications or public affairs, ideally within a high-growth technology or consumer-facing organization.
- Proven ability to deliver strategic communications counsel to senior executives.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and other relevant communication tools.
- Experience managing and mentoring a team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Background in political campaign communications preferred, but not required.
