About The Role
As Communications Director, you will be responsible for building, developing and implementing Matterport’s external communications strategy to support our mission, vision, brand, products and services. You will collaborate cross-functionally and work directly with senior executive leadership as well as agency partners to ensure a cohesive, consistent and impactful narrative across all external communications.
What You Will Do
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $120,448 to $188,020 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. As Communications Director, you will be responsible for building, developing and implementing Matterport’s external communications strategy to support our mission, vision, brand, products and services. You will collaborate cross-functionally and work directly with senior executive leadership as well as agency partners to ensure a cohesive, consistent and impactful narrative across all external communications.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute a global communications strategy that strengthens the company’s presence and reputation through compelling narratives and strategic partnerships with editors, journalists, industry influencers and industry organizations
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of external PR and Communications agencies, ensuring they deliver quantifiable results that advance and support the company’s overall mission and strategic objectives
- Partner with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to uncover storytelling opportunities that are aligned with Matterport’s business and strategic objectives
- Partner cross-functionally to bring brand, product and solution narratives to life through earned media channels and content
- Coordinate with internal teams to support announcements, global launch events, product updates and more
- Serve as the press facing-representative for the company in partnership with the external agency
- 7+ years of experience in in public relations or corporate communications, preferably in technology or real estate
- Proven track record developing and executing successful content and PR strategies that drive brand awareness and amplify company narratives
- Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, and highly effective verbal communication
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use data and market research to driven communications and content decisions
- Experience working directly with senior executive leadership
- Self-directed and able to work and lead proactively, coordinating stakeholder buy-in across teams
