Position DescriptionAriva seeks a high-energy, self-directed part-time Communications Manager to contribute to and

oversee Ariva’s communications strategy and activities. The manager, though part-time, is an essential part of Ariva’s leadership team who will oversee and implement a wide range of corporate communications, media outreach, public relations, digital content, and social media activities that advance communications and organizational goals.

This position offers flexible hours and can be hybrid (partly remote and partly in our Bronx offices). In-person meetings will be required periodically.

Since Ariva provides direct face-to-face services to vulnerable populations, at this time all new hires must be vaccinated against COVID-19 for the health and safety of our staff and clients.ResponsibilitiesWork with the executive team and Board leadership to develop an annual communications plan and serve as lead staff on the plan’s implementation.Serve as agency point person in working with consultants and vendors on Ariva’s marketing and fundraising projects and campaigns.Manage production and dissemination of Ariva’s print materials including annual reports, flyers, brochures.In coordination with Ariva’s marketing consultant, edit, repurpose, disseminate, and manage content for Ariva’s digital communications to various audiences, including social media, email blasts, website content, and blog posts.Monitor and contribute to developing engagement strategies on social media platforms to enhance Ariva’s visibility with target audiences.In coordination with Ariva’s marketing consultant, manage editorial calendar for digital content/social media.Coordinate tracking and reporting on results and KPIs of audience outreach.Core Competencies:Five years’ experience in communications and marketing, at least one year in a non-profit setting.Skilled writer and editorExperience administering popular social media platforms such as Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, YouTube, etc., and management tools such as Hootsuite or Sprout Social.Experience updating WordPress CMS.Extremely well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively with staff colleagues.Cultural competency to work with immigrant communities.In addition to the above competencies, any of the additional skills and experience listed below are desirable:Bilingual in English and Spanish.Prior experience working with community-based nonprofits.
