Job Description:
• Responsible for tracking legislation and staying up to date with political developments as it relates to the U.S. Congress.
• Act as a subject matter expert on the U.S. legislative process and U.S. Congress, including maintaining updated knowledge of both the Senate and House, with emphasis on Foreign Affairs, Armed Services, Appropriations and other relevant committees.
• Daily job duties include conducting research, preparing reports on legislation, congressional hearings and mark-ups in relevant committees.
• Providing assistance with administrative tasks and embassy-wide projects and events.
• Background and interest in Israel related issues strongly desired.
• Background and interest in Middle Eastern issues a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills are required (the Embassy is a bilingual work-environment).
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree
• This position is research oriented and requires exceptional writing skills.
• Full time employment - on site in Washington DC
• You cannot hold dual Israel and USA citizenships
About the Department:
The Congressional Affairs Department is responsible for developing and maintaining the relationship between Israel and the U.S. Congress.
The department facilitates dialogue between Israeli officials, Senators, Members of Congress and their respective staff - as well as promoting cooperation on a range of issues.
