Consultant, Battery and Energy Modeling

Role Description

Seeking a candidate with primary responsibilities in battery energy storage (BESS) and solar resource modeling services (advisory and independent engineering), along with experience in project design, development, construction and/or operations. Experience with wind power generation modeling a plus. Among other responsibilities, the position will entail BESS and solar resource modeling, contributing on renewable and BESS project diligence, construction monitoring, commissioning and performance test verification, and project management. The position/title will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and capabilities and offers opportunity for career development and growth.


The position requires excellent communication, teamwork, report writing skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage and flex with multiple projects and schedules simultaneously, and the drive to meet client and co-worker needs.


This is a full-time remote role, although there is opportunity for hybrid work from our Denver, CO offices.


Qualifications

  • Authoritative capabilities and experience using PVsyst, along with other similar energy yield assessment programs, and battery energy storage modeling and techniques. Experience with wind generation modeling a plus.
  • Statistical analysis of solar and battery data, resource and net energy production forecasts (including uncertainty/variability analysis and loss assumptions), project design, site conditions, and technology suitability.
  • Strong understanding of data collection techniques, pre- and post-construction measurement campaigns (including performance testing) and project contracts (e.g., power purchase, equipment supply, EPC, interconnection, and O&M agreements).
  • Project design and National Electric Code experience.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, computer, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and drive to excel.
  • Ability to work well independently, as a team, and under deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, atmospheric science, or equivalent; advanced degrees preferred.
