Summary:

With limited supervision, the Senior Continuous Improvement Communication and Training Consultant identifies, plans, participates in, and facilitates Lean Continuous Improvement training and activities that help the organization achieve and sustain continuous improvement and lean initiatives. The consultant is responsible to develop training and communication content across multiple media and train the business units in a wide range of organizational areas on how to use structured process improvement and problem-solving methods that will add sustainable value, and well as aid the business in implementing various lean practices such as visual management. The consultant can train any business unit functional area. The consultant works cooperatively with cross functional teams and departments to develop and deliver targeted content as needed. The consultant is capable of pro-actively building on prior training and communications to continuously grow organizational understanding. The consultant is responsible for developing content and executing the CI communication strategy, including delivering across multiple platforms to widely varying audiences to facilitate advancement of Continuous Improvement culture.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of communication and training strategy to advance business understanding and cultural maturity around lean and continuous improvement principles and tools.
  • Lead in development and delivery of training and communications content to support:
  • Understanding of the corporate strategic plan and how to evaluate and determine improvement opportunities
  • Developing high level and detailed performance measures and targets, and other controls for processes and projects
  • Implementation of visual management and processes for regular review
  • Creation of standardized processes and implementation of continuous improvement in support of business unit plans
  • Facilitation of efforts to re-design processes and procedures
  • Effective use of the full range of tools for Lean continuous improvement and project management
  • Performing financial and cost-benefit analyses using a wide variety of analytical tools and methods
  • Developing business cases and project plans using company standards
  • Accept accountability and work cohesively in a team environment that stresses attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate excellent business acumen in communications, behavior, dependability, and teamwork.
  • Manage schedules and provide updates assuming multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Conduct research and benchmark.
  • Regularly develop and add to own skills.
  • Teach colleagues to competently apply Lean continuous improvement methods and principles as a trusted business resource.
  • Contribute to continuously improving tools and methods utilized by Continuous Improvement.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, engineering, operations research, business, finance, marketing, communications, education or organizational management preferred.


Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years in lean methodologies, process improvement, project management, financial analytics, agile, communications, learning and organizational development and/or relevant experience in utility industry, and equivalent education and/or advanced degree taken into consideration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe In Design preferred
