Contract Paralegal


Location: Remote, California

LHH is working with a start-up law firm in Northern California in seeking a Contract Paralegal to join their team remotely, focusing on employment law and workplace investigations. As a Paralegal, you will be a key player in managing and organizing legal documents, ensuring document retrieval, and summarizing important information. You will collaborate closely with attorneys and other support staff to maintain a well-organized and accessible document system. Your role will involve a combination of project management, substantive document review, and data analysis to support our employment litigation practice.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Management: Organize, catalog, and maintain physical and electronic files with consistent naming conventions.
  • Investigation Support: Manage workplace investigations, including document review, summaries, charts, data analysis, and proofreading reports.
  • Information Analysis: Analyze facts and records, and assist attorneys in report preparation.
  • File Maintenance: Track documents, deadlines, and case-related information to keep files up-to-date.
  • Collaboration: Work with attorneys and staff to ensure efficient document flow and retrieval.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certification from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a strong emphasis on document management. Experience in litigation is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a firm specializing in workplace investigations or high-volume employment litigation.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal procedures and terminology.
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in relevant legal software and tools.
