The Contracts Management Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring financial security and maximizing reimbursement by managing all aspects of payer contracts with insurance companies and other healthcare payers, ensuring optimal revenue capture and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Position Summary:
The Contracts Management Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring financial security and maximizing reimbursement by managing all aspects of payer contracts with insurance companies and other healthcare payers, ensuring optimal revenue capture and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret payer contracts, identifying key terms, reimbursement rates, coding requirements, and prior authorization processes.
- Negotiate favorable contract terms for the company, ensuring maximum reimbursement and alignment with industry standards.
- Collaborate with RCM team members (e.g., coders, billers) to identify potential contractual issues that could impact revenue collection.
- Work closely with the legal department to ensure all contracts comply with company policies and healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Medicare).
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive contract tracking system to monitor deadlines, expirations, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to payer contracts.
- Manage the contract approval process, securing all necessary signatures from internal and external parties.
- Maintain a detailed contract repository for easy retrieval and reference by RCM team members.
- Stay current on changes in payer policies and regulations, proactively updating contracts and processes as needed.
- Provide ongoing support and education to RCM staff regarding contractual requirements and best practices for maximizing reimbursement.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required; a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of two to three (2-3) years of experience in healthcare contracts management, preferably within the urology industry.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare payer contracts, coding requirements, and reimbursement methodologies.
- Strong understanding of revenue cycle management processes and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address contractual issues impacting revenue.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft clear, concise, and legally sound contract amendments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and contract management software (a plus).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail. Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
- Knowledge of urological procedures and coding systems (e.g., CPT, HCPCS).
- Familiarity with relevant healthcare regulations affecting reimbursement (e.g., ICD-10, Medicare Secondary Payer rules).
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proactive and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- High-speed, reliable internet connection to ensure uninterrupted communication and access to necessary systems and tools.
- Quiet and private work environment to maintain the confidentiality of patient information and minimize background noise during calls.
- Proficiency in using remote collaboration tools, such as video conferencing software, instant messaging platforms, and customer relationship management systems.
- Compliance with all security and privacy policies and protocols, including safeguarding patient information and maintaining HIPAA compliance.
