The role


As a Control Engineer, you will play a critical role in our efforts to design, implement, and optimize control systems for our cutting-edge renewable energy projects. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our renewable energy assets, including solar photovoltaic (PV), wind turbines, hydroelectric, and energy storage systems. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians to drive innovation and enhance the performance of our renewable energy solutions.


Your key responsibilities:


  • Utilize your in-depth knowledge of renewable energy systems to design and develop control strategies for our diverse portfolio of projects.
  • Collaborate with our engineering team to integrate control and automation solutions into renewable energy systems for optimal performance, grid integration, and utility interconnection.
  • Design and program PPC (Power Plant Controllers) for efficient and reliable power conversion, energy management, and utility control testing.
  • Conduct utility control testings and work closely with utility companies to ensure seamless interconnection and compliance with their grid requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose control system issues, providing timely solutions to ensure uninterrupted operation and performance optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations, including NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) compliance, and other relevant codes for our renewable energy projects.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in renewable energy technologies and control systems, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.


Your skills and experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in controls engineering, with a focus on renewable energy systems.
  • Strong proficiency in PPC (Power Plant Controller) systems relevant to renewable energy applications.
  • Knowledge of grid integration challenges and solutions for renewable energy projects, including utility interconnection and utility control testings. It would be great if you could also be able to interpret SLD, protections, etc.
  • Familiarity with NERC compliance requirements to ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative team environment.
  • Passion for sustainability and a desire to contribute to the growth of the renewable energy industry.
