In this newly developed role, you will support the CFO in all accounting, operations and finance functions required for accurate and timely financial reporting for this privately-held trucking company. Additionally, you will be tasked with the development of a robust budgeting and forecasting process to help sustain the company's continued growth. Manage three direct reports in the the day-to-day financial operations of the organization
Build/maintain the relationship and interface with payroll services company
Coordinate Review processes and be main interface with public accounting firm
Present ownership with accurate monthly financial statements and reports
Analyze financial data
Analyze, apply, and improve policies, procedures, and controls related to accounting
Oversee and monitor the annual budget and forecast process with a focus on process improvement
Guide operations of accounting/finance, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Review cash disbursement transactions monthly to determine appropriate allocations to general ledger account and distribution to various budget categories
Prepare journal and month/year ending entries
Maintain reporting for state regulatory filings
Assist with other ad hoc projects as needed
Requirements
BS in Accounting required
CPA Designation. CMA and/or MBA is a plus.
Minimum 5+ years’ experience with supervisory skills
Strong GAAP skills with payroll (Paychex) and QuickBooks knowledge
Excellent organizational, problem solving, critical/analytical thinking, and computer skills
Hands on experience with monthly closing procedures and monthly issuance of financial statements
Industry experience in Transportation, Trucking or Environmental companies helpful but not required
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
