Delap is directly supporting one of our TOP clients to identify a dynamic Controller to lead all accounting and financial operations! This stellar organization is an industry leader in the retail apparel and fashion space.


Reporting directly to both the Owner and President/CEO, the Controller is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Finance & Accounting for the company.

The ideal candidate will be able to design & implement strong processes and controls to improve the reliability and timeliness of financial information.


Located in Tualatin, Oregon, the strong preference is that the Controller will work on-site 4 days per week, with the option to work fully remote 1 day per week.


Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements & related managerial reporting; cash management; budget compilation; and compliance.
  • The Controller is charged with leading a team of 3 to effectively manage Receivables, Payables, Purchasing & Inventory Management (including Imports), and HR & Benefits Administration.
  • This position owns the decisions, processes, and first line support for the Accounting & Inventory/Order Management systems, including ancillary software/systems, e.g. EDI, web store, and shipping integrations.
  • The Controller is considered a key part of the management team and is expected to provide advice and articulate opinions or objections to assist with all manner of decisions on a daily basis.
  • Strong systems & technical ability are a significant plus, as are demonstrated management/leadership skills.



Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years progressive accounting experience; QuickBooks experience is a must.
  • Experience with wholesale distribution and/or manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated technical accounting skills, solid understanding of GAAP.
  • Self-starter; must be comfortable reprioritizing tasks and resources within a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to balance priorities in a small company environment while wearing multiple hats.
