We are partnering with a Private Equity backed home service company looking for a Controller. The Controller works directly with the CFO in developing accurate, scalable, and timely reporting and will have significant influence on the department’s decision-making. The Controller will assist in the development of internal controls across the accounting function. This position will own the monthly close process, ensure reporting accuracy, and reduce manual tasks throughout the department and will be heavily involved in the audit process. We focus on informed decision-making through data analysis and as such the candidate will see an immediate impact from their work to the operations of the business lines. The Controller reports directly to the CFO will have full responsibility for accounting, reporting, and compliance functions.


  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the CFO and Sponsor to develop a financial reporting package for investors.
  • Partner with the CFO and Sponsor to enhance and maintain the corporate financial model and forecasts (both GAAP and Cash forecasts).
  • Implement rolling forecast procedures within the organization.
  • Establish expense controls and audit procedures to drive operational cost efficiencies.
  • Develop procedures for tracking the net working capital cycle across key vendors and customers.
  • Build reliable projections and take ownership of rolling forecasts, including tracking performance irregularities.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA certification and/or public accounting experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with private equity portfolio companies is preferred.
  • Experience in a 1099/reoccurring revenue business, with a preference for the solar or home security sectors.
  • Proficient understanding of accounting principles, ensuring adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong grasp of financial concepts, with expertise in financial analysis, precise forecasting, and budgeting techniques.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in Excel.
  • Resourceful problem solver with a hands-on approach.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, combined with a strategic mindset and results-oriented approach.
