We are inviting applications for the role of Controller in our non-profit organization based in CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, United States. Take on responsibilities that are been outsourced to a part time fractional CFO, elevate the functions being done by a Staff Accountant and provide the internal senior leadership team immediate information. Partner with the Executive Director and be a member of the senior leadership team, have a seat at the table. Monthly responsibilities include all things accounting (AP, AR,PR, JE), budgeting, forecasting, month end, year-end, audit and tax (liaison). Provide grant funding management and reporting. Be a critical part of an organization and feel like you are giving back to the community. Requirements
Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in a accounting role within the Non-Profit industry
Proficient in oversite of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) but ability to fill in
Experience in Auditing and Budget Processes is necessary
Knowledge and experience in overseeing Payroll but ability to fill in
Must be skilled in Reconciliations and Journal Entries
Experience in Month End Close is crucial
Ability to prepare and analyze Financial Statements
Proficient in Budgeting and Forecasting
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred
Strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multitask
Strong organizational and time management skills
Must adhere to highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism
