Our client seeks an experienced Construction Controller to oversee their accounting department. This role offers the opportunity to grow into CFO within the next 5 years. The ideal candidate is looking for an opportunity to grow in their next role and is a natural leader with strong business acumen.
This is a hybrid role requiring qualified applicants to commute weekly to offices in Portland, Oregon.
Responsibilities
Develop accounting processes and controls.
Manage team members ensuring timely and accurate month end close processes.
Review GL for accuracy and compliance; reconcile entries as required.
Handle financial statement preparations and prepare ad-hoc financial reports.
Set up new projects in ERP system and process changes as needed.
Monitor projects and cash flow/costs, keeping business leaders informed of budgets and timelines.
Ad-hoc financial planning, reporting, and tax/audit support.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
5+ years of experience handling full-cycle construction accounting functions.
At least 1 year of supervisory/leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of WIP/project accounting, month end close, and financial reporting processes.
Proficiency with construction accounting software (Viewpoint, Vista, Trimble, or similar preferred).
Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Salary: $110k - $140k (DOE) + Profit Share Bonus
