To fuel our growth we have an exciting opportunity for an Agency Accounting Controller/Business Partner.  This position will be responsible for being the Accounting Strategic Business Partner and Controller within an assigned region and group of Agency Partners.

This position will be based in our Global Headquarters in downtown Grand Rapids, MI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Agency Accounting strategic partner to assigned Agency Partner leadership. 
  • Establish relationships as the Agency Accounting strategic partner & Controller for assigned Agency Partners that embody the Acrisure culture.
  • Maintain knowledge of Acrisure and Agency Partner specific policies and procedures and implement consistent compliance with key items while supporting independence in other matters.
  • Partner across other operational areas to ensure successful Agency Accounting onboarding and integration efforts for newly transitioned Agency Partners.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Agency Partner accounting requirements related to day-to-day operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely payments of carriers and producers.
  • Direct and manage agency accounting team of up to 20 team members, instilling the Acrisure culture of Agency Partner operating independence and team responsibility and accountability.
  • Identify and offer solutions for training/development needs including individual and leadership training needs.
  • Partner with Agency Accounting Operations leadership and others to identify trends or themes relating to improvement opportunities within assigned Agency Partners.  Proactively partner with Agency Partner Leadership to maintain awareness and manage plans to improve.
  • Ensure proactive communication with Agency Partners regarding the collection of data required for corporate reporting or other related needs.
  • Collaborate with other Accounting partners in the creation and implementation of progressive initiatives in all Accounting areas.
  • Responsible for the review and accuracy of Agency Partner financial statement.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or similar discipline or the recognized equivalent in education and experience; 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role / position

Computer Skills:

  • Possess strong administrative and computing skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • Experience with agency management systems (EPIC, AMS360, TAM, AIM, etc.), preferred

Other Qualifications:

  • Must be analytical, organized, and detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must have a high level of problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within an organization. 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle employee relations at all levels is required.  
  • Travel up to 20% of the time.
