About Our Client
I'm partnered with the CFO at a million dollar manufacturing organization located in Bedford Park, IL. This client is a market leader in their space and is looking to expand their company by growing into new industries. With exciting new products set to launch in the near future, it is the perfect time to join as the Controller!
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for overseeing the organizations plant locations, processing payroll, analyzing financial information, spotting errors, recommending system improvements, managing staff, and assisting with audits. The Controller is a key member of the plant leadership team and offers high visibility within the company.
Job Description
Controller Responsibilities:
Manage plant accounting department
Coordinate month, quarter, and year-end closing processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
Produce financial statements and budgets
Assist in processing weekly payroll
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard inventory assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Direct internal and external audits and reviews
Manage the end-to-end payroll processes
Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures

The Successful Applicant
The Successfull Controller will have:
Experience within the manufacturing industry
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA or MBA a plus
Proven experience as a Controller
Strong cost experience
Management experience
Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels
Exceptional leadership abilities and a track record of building and managing high-performing teams
