Controller - North Dallas (140k-150k + bonus)

LHH is working with a company in the Dallas area that is adding a new Controller to their team. The role of Controller is pivotal in ensuring the ongoing and future efficiency of various financial functions, encompassing accounting, payroll, risk management, taxes, and audits. The incumbent will oversee accounting practices in alignment with company policies, providing guidance to the Senior Director of Finance and Administration, while also acting as the primary liaison with the Controller’s office at our corporate headquarters.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee the month-end closing process, adhering to both US GAAP and IFRS, as well as company policies.
• Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns.
• Supervise merchant accounts and collaborate with CPAs for year-end tax wrap-ups.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local legal requirements, staying abreast of existing and new legislation.
• Build and lead a competent financial team through selection, training, monitoring, and motivation.
• Stay updated on professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and participating in relevant societies.
• Safeguard confidential financial information and plans to maintain operational integrity.
• Collaborate with the IRS to address notices and queries.
• Evaluate internal controls and analyze variances.
• Engage with external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits when necessary.
• Support new unit openings by implementing robust financial processes.
• Maintain detailed financial histories and checklists for each business unit.
• Supervise billing processes for commercial tenants and loan payments.
• Enforce internal controls for receipts and cash management.
• Provide supervision and support to the Corporate Security and Investigations team.
• Assist in special projects as required.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred) or equivalent in accounting.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a strong plus.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a controller role.
• Knowledge in SAP 4Hana
