The Cook I assists in preparation for daily service and catered events according to menu and recipe guidelines. This role follows kitchen opening and closing procedures adhering to local health department requirements.

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, and location. The Cook I assists in preparation for daily service and catered events according to menu and recipe guidelines. This role follows kitchen opening and closing procedures adhering to local health department requirements.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assists with preparation of meal ingredients, including washing, peeling, cutting, and assembling food items.
- Receives orders from kitchen point of sale. Learns and understands operation of the point-of-sale system.
- Follows recipe standards and dietary restrictions to prepare meals.
- Provides accurate meal descriptions to guests with continued knowledge of menu.
- Adheres to proper food handling, sanitation, safety, and personal hygiene and health standards.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and food storage.
- Maintains food bars and communicates production needs to the manager/chef on duty.
- Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance to kitchen manager.
- Knowledge of food safety.
- Entry level knife skills.
- Ability to work quickly and effectively with others.
- Strong communication skills.
- Treats all team members with respect and courtesy.
- Strong customer focus.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability and flexibility to work weekends and evenings shifts
