Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Corporate Accounting Manager located in Durham, NC. The Corporate Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing financial department staff as well as oversee the tasks of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, billing, credit and collections and their processes.

Filling this position is time sensitive. The company is implementing a new ERP system, INFOR Syteline. Experience with this system is desired, but NOT required.

Essential Duties

  • Understand the functionality of the INFOR/CSI ERP accounting system
  • Maintain chart of accounts in the General Ledger system
  • Compile and manage daily, monthly, and annual spreadsheets and documents for period balancing, including Daily Sales Journal, Comparative Sales Analysis, Billing Summaries, Cash disbursement totals, and others
  • Prepare monthly commission calculations for salespersons
  • Prepare monthly sales analysis for management
  • Record and adjust depreciation schedules for acquired and retired assets.
  • Assure monthly sales tax reporting and remittances for the various states and localities are submitted accurately. Maintain familiarity with the reporting requirements for the states and localities the company performs business in. Avalara sales tax software will be incorporated with the new ERP system.
  • Prepare annual business personal property tax submissions and business licenses for each locality Qualifications
  • CPA certification or advanced degree in accounting/finance is preferred
  • Senior accounting experience in construction or related industries is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience in financial statements, analytical skills, and journal entries (accounting)
  • Strong background in finance/accounting and familiarity with sales tax laws and procedures
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to meet specific deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Experience using INFOR Syteline ERP system is a plus
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • A successful candidate must present enough information for a thorough background check as required by company policy
