Corporate Controller, Corporate Accounting – Associate Director

The Corporate Controller is responsible for managing corporate accounting operations. Responsibilities include consolidation, general ledger accounting, month-end close management, tax, and audit support. The ideal candidate will have experience with multiple international subsidiaries. This position is hands-on and has direct visibility to upper management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the general accounting function including annual, quarterly, and monthly financial closes, and review of related reconciliation and consolidation processes for U.S. company and foreign subsidiaries.
  • Own and manage functional areas of responsibilities including consolidations, payroll, general ledger, cost accounting, property plant & equipment, government grant accounting, and intercompany accounting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial compilation, reporting and presentation of U.S. and foreign subsidiary financial information.
  • Coordinate the financial reporting related to international entities and subsidiaries.
  • Review and approve the activities and tasks of the general accounting team.
  • Collaborate with the shared services team to support the operational accounting needs of the organization.
  • Support senior management and executive levels by providing key financial management reporting and reviews.
  • Partner with business unit management in the setup and execution of accounting processes to support new and changing business needs.
  • Act as key liaison with external auditors and coordination of related reviews.
  • Drive and own the design and development of improved accounting operations.
  • Manage and lead various process improvement and financial systems projects.
  • Perform all activities related to the development and management of corporate accounting staff, including Manager and Senior accounting levels.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or related programs.
  • Recent experience as an accountant, assistant controller, or in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated role progression with at least 12+ years of recent management experience.
  • Direct experience with enterprise software applications (e.g., SAP preferable).
  • Experience with internal control structures and external audit environments.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as CPA, CFM, or CMA.
  • Public accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
  • Specific SAP and/or Blackline experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing industries.
  • Proven success in leading significant process improvements to the monthly close process.
  • High attention to detail (the importance of detail orientation, particularly in the review of analyses).
  • Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong management and leadership skills, including problem solving and analytical skills.


Amyris is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. 

The annual pay range for this role is $136,500 to $ 218,500. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis, and will vary based on the candidate’s skills, depth of experience and specific work location.
