Description

Arellano Associates is seeking a Corporate Financial Advisor and Acting CFO on a contract/part-time basis to provide strategic financial leadership and oversight during a critical phase of company growth and expansion. Priorities for this role are to:

  • Support and prepare the company for organizational scaling through an effective mergers and acquisitions (M&A) strategy, due diligence process, proper succession planning, and appropriate corporate/business structure.
  • Review current corporate structure and tax strategies, and recommend next steps to drive significant valuation and EBITDA improvements.
  • Optimize our financial operations and internal processes for financial management.
  • Develop an in-house Financial Team and modeling to support our current and future needs.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Counsel

  • Executive Collaboration: Work closely with Founder/Owner and Executive Team to provide strategic financial advice and support decision-making processes.
  • M&A Business Strategy: Assist management with possible M&A deals and/or other strategic partnerships, including company valuations, due diligence, etc.
  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop financial strategies that align with the company's long-term goals, ensuring financial health and sustainability.

Financial Operations & Business Structure

  • Process Evaluation and Improvement: Conduct thorough reviews of existing financial processes and systems, identifying and implementing improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Financial Oversight and Reporting: Support and guide/mentor Financial Team to ensure that all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, are done with clarity and accuracy, and with analysis that provides actionable decisions based on financial insights.
  • Business Structure: Assess current LLC business structure and corporate options going forward to align with Strategic Plan, including potential mergers, acquisitions, strategic partners, employee ownership, etc.
  • Tax Strategy and Optimization: Lead the planning and implementation of tax strategies to ensure compliance and efficiency, minimizing liabilities and maximizing incentives.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and develop internal Financial Team members, identifying potential leaders to prepare for future financial management roles.
  • Executive Compensation Plan Development: Assist leadership formulate potential compensation packages to incentivize and secure senior positions for long-term stability.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • Proven experience as a CFO, Corporate Financial Advisor, or similar role, preferably in related industries.
  • Proven experience with business re-structuring, including alternative business structures, deal negotiation and risk assessment.
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Strong background in financial strategy, tax planning, and corporate finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial systems and budgets in a growing company.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with senior management.

Preferred Requirements

The ideal candidate will have senior/executive level management experience as a CFO or other senior level management finance positions. CPA certification is preferred. Strong experience in business deal structures, and overseeing tax and financial strategy in dynamic settings is a must. The ideal candidate would also have some board level/advisory role experience. This position may lead to the individual serving an in-house CFO and/or a board of advisors for AA that may be formulated in the future.
