Who We’re Looking For Corporate & Foundation Philanthropic Partnership Director

Summary/Objective:

The Corporate and Foundation Philanthropic Partnership Director is a key member of the Valley of the Sun United Way team and is responsible for cultivating, securing and managing new and expanded corporate and foundation philanthropic partnerships to advance shared impact goals, for the Maricopa County community. The Director will implement strategies to secure new support and shape partnerships for VSUW long-term growth as a corporate social responsibility partner to local corporations as well as collective impact partner to local foundations. In addition, this position will support United Way’s efforts to build six figure corporate and foundation partnerships that align with United Way’s strategic plan. The position will collaborate cross-functionally with corporate relations, grants, community development and marketing teams, as well as with the organization’s executive and board leadership to implement successful corporate and foundation partnership plans. The Director will be a creative, solutions-oriented professional with demonstrated experience in fundraising to support non-profit mission, strong communication skills, and a track record of implementing successful corporate and foundation partnerships.

Essential Functions

Actively engages with corporate and foundation donors with a primary focus on securing annual and multi-year gifts in accordance with revenue goals.

Develop a solid pipeline of corporate and foundation partners through effective prospect research and reengagement of past corporate and foundation partners.

Partner with Chief Corporate Relations and Brand Officer to develop an annual corporate gifts and sponsorship strategy, plan and proposal calendar.

Engage in qualification, strategy, relationship building, proposal development and stewardship plans using moves management practices.

Achieve established annual revenue goals, meeting key performance indicators.

Fosters collaborative relationships with corporate relations managers and executive team by coordinating joint solicitation efforts, developing internal processes and procedures, and aligning marketing and outreach efforts for events, programs and initiatives.

Collaborate with marketing and community impact teams to develop content for compelling proposals.

Oversees the delivery of high-level corporate donor experience and recognition programs in order to cultivate new expanded opportunities; Collaborates with corporate relations team on the ongoing cultivation of existing high potential donor relationships.

Generate accurate monthly progress reports with respect to goal.

Supervise and provide leadership to a grant writer.

Required Education And Experience

A combination of education or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.

At least 5 years of relevant experience, and proven track record of achieving six figure gifts.Fph

Candidates should be an outgoing, highly motivated, self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team, while managing multiple responsibilities

Able to identify and cultivate business comfortably for undesignated gifts.

Ability to work exceedingly well with all types of personalities. Must be an excellent communicator, both verbally and with writing

Must be innovative, flexible, and able to work independently.

Able to strategically plan, execute and drive program success. Must understand and embrace data-driven reasoning and program evaluation. Must be able to set and achieve goals and objectives.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Valid Arizona driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, and daily access to personal vehicle
