Counsel

The Counsel will report to the General Counsel. This role requires an exceptional level of oral and written communication skills and involves interaction with management and senior management of MRO Corp.

Key Responsibilities And Expectations

• Provide guidance on laws, regulations, and regulatory developments applicable to the HIM industry
• Responsible for legal assistance in reviewing and drafting regulatory summaries with the ability to distill complex information into summary form applicable to the HIM industry
• Triage and prioritize incoming disputes, research and applying governing law, determining proper course of action to resolve
• Demonstrate strong business acumen and the ability to draft and negotiate complex contract language and lead contract negotiations
• Handle and assist in a variety of other legal issues and projects that arise from time to time

Education And Qualifications

• Juris Doctor Degree (JD) from accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law by the bar of at least one state
• 2+ years of experience in a multi-client law firm, health insurer, hospital, or similar organization
• Strong knowledge of healthcare law or litigation experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal, writing, and verbal communications skills
• Ability to interact with all levels of management
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and able to work independently and as a part of a team to prioritize responsibilities, take initiative and self-motivate/self-manage work and time
