The 3rd Judicial District of Iowa has an immediate opening for a Court Reporter in 3A and 3B.
The starting salary for new State of Iowa Judicial employees is expected to be at the base of the pay range. The pay range is $59,321.60 to $96,803.20.
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00A – 4:30P

Under the direct supervision of the District Court Administrator or designee, candidates will have the desire to learn the complexities of our court case processing system using our statewide Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). The 3A position will be primarily based in Kossuth County and the 3B position will be primarily based in Sioux County, but may occasionally involve travel to other counties in the district.
Job Duties Include But Not Limited To
Captures court testimony and proceedings with stenography machine.
Attention to detail.
Reads back court testimony and proceedings upon request.
Prepares transcripts, performs general office work.
Marks and records exhibits during court proceedings.
Performs related work as determined by Judge, Chief Judge or designee.
Electronic document filing required in all counites within District 3.
May be required to work for any Judicial Officer in the 3rd District per operational needs.

This is a non-merit position with the Iowa Judicial Branch. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section.
Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited high school (or High School Equivalency) and graduation from a school of court reporting.
Must be certified by the Iowa Board of Shorthand Reporters within 12 months of employment, and certification must be maintained as a condition of employment. Certification demonstrates proficiency based on the standard of the National Court Reporters Association for the earned designation of Registered Professional Reporter or the National Verbatim Reporters Association for the earned designation of Certified Verbatim Reporter.
Court Reporter will purchase and maintain court reporting software and stenotype machines and/or verbatim recording equipment.
