Data Analyst 1

The Role

This role is primarily responsible for providing support for the processing of and reconciling of risk, claims and premium data received from appointed agents and claims third party administrators (TPA’s). Involves collaboration with agents and TPAs as well as internal business units, including but not limited to underwriting, finance and claims.

Responsibilities will include:

Bordereaux Processing

• Prepare incoming risk and premium bordereaux for processing, including but not limited to translating to standard format
• Provide quality assurance of MGA data by cleaning, filtering and running data control checks and validations using most appropriate and relevant methods
• Work with agents, TPAs, vendors, underwriters, claims and finance to resolve data errors and omissions within reasonable time frames in accordance with the monthly closing schedules
  
  

Data Analysis

• Run queries to identify any exceptions to underwriting guidelines
• Analyze underwriting exception query results and provide feedback to underwriters
• Run queries as needed to identify inconsistencies in bordereaux data
  
  

Testing

• Perform testing of enhancements and defect fixes for the bordereaux management system
  
  

Claims Administration (if applicable)

• Update system with new catastrophe codes as needed
• Perform TPA funding report reconciliation
• Assist with other projects and tasks related to claims administration and processing
  
  

Skills and experience:

• Strong analytical skills
• Extensive knowledge of bordereaux data across a large number of different business lines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel knowledge and skills in other Microsoft Office products in order to support MI and Reporting
• The ability to plan work and meet deadlines
• The ability to carry out data quality control, validation and linkage
• The ability to produce and interpret clear graphical representations and data visualizations
