Summary

The Data Analyst will be responsible for interpreting various forms of data and presenting it in a useful and easy-to-understand manner. Candidates must be analytically skilled and able to collect, interpret, and analyze data. Activities may include pricing/product development, product management, actuarial administration, valuation/financial reporting, modeling, reinsurance, management information, and rating systems.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ensures work is completed according to applicable regulation and actuarial standards of practice.
  • Involved in developing, modifying, and executing company policies that affect immediate operations and/or have company-wide effect.
  • Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
  • Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Establishes and ensures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
  • Regularly interacts with senior management or executives on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or clients. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations.
  • Use statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets.
  • Prepare reports for management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
  • Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques.
  • Develop and implement data analyses, data collection systems, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Acquire data and maintain databases, such as via data entry.
