The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to provide advanced expertise in data and systems modernization. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the client’s efforts to modernize and enhance their data systems, with a focus on creating robust, scalable, and secure data architectures. This role is integral to ensuring that the client's data infrastructure aligns with best practices in public health and data science, enabling informed decision-making and efficient operations.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• System Modernization - Provide expert guidance and hands-on support for the modernization of data systems, ensuring they meet contemporary standards for performance, security, and scalability
• Data Analytics & Visualization - Lead the development and enhancement of data analytics platforms and visualization tools, transforming complex data sets into actionable insights through user-friendly interfaces
• Collaboration & Leadership - Participate actively in weekly meetings and workgroups, offering strategic advice and technical expertise to support the client’s modernization efforts. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
• Data Security - Implement and maintain rigorous data security measures, ensuring that all data handling processes comply with the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity
  
  

Compensation and Term

This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possibleextensions and pay commensurate with experience up to$167,000per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.

Qualifications You Need

A successful Data Architecthas the following experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
• Advanced Degree in Public Health or related field
• A minimum of seven (7)years of experience in public health, with a focus on data systems
• A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in data science, including data analysis and interpretation
• A minimum of seven (7) years of experience with public health data systems
• Proficiency in data analytics and visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Experience in designing and managing complex data systems, including databases and data warehouses
• Strong understanding of epidemiology and its application in data analysis
• Experience with machine learning and predictive analytics
• Expertise in data integration and transformation processes
• Familiarity with data security protocols and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
• Experience in risk management and implementing security measures
• Ability to develop scalable data solutions that grow with organizational needs
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and other database query languages
• Experience in data architecture and modeling
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues
• Experience in project management, including leading cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to mentor and guide junior staff in best practices for data management
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
