We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Infrastructure Analyst role for a Data Center in Piscataway, New Jersey. This role is primarily focused on the management of infrastructure installation requests and the certification of infrastructure network connections. The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced data center environment and will be responsible for coordinating work requests, creating tickets, and monitoring data center operations.
Responsibilities
Oversee the management of infrastructure installation requests from initiation to closure
Support building Power Downs/Single Sided Events
Certify infrastructure network connections and peripherals prior to handing off to DCS
Collaborate with the BAU team to provide any additional infrastructure
Coordinate work requests with electrical contractors to ensure all Service Levels are met
Provide detailed estimates of assigned projects, document requirements, and interpret schematics and drawings
Create Tickets/TCMs & monitor for approval, Closeout/Cancel them once work is complete
Coordinate power remediation from start to completion
Assist with rack level capacity management and MOA monitoring
Participate in meetings pertaining to BAU or projects INF work
Provide Root Cause Analysis reports regarding power issues
Coordinate the Infrastructure Installs including but not limited to survey for Power installs, Infrastructure & Rack installs, and Survey for Infrastructure Cabling
Responsible for the ordering and tracking of all infrastructure materials and tracking infrastructure stock
Skills
Knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Cisco Routers, and Cisco Technologies
Experience with EO/IR systems and Linux Technologies
Familiarity with AB Testing and Circuit Board
Proficiency in Computer Hardware and Configuration Management
Experience with Dell PowerEdge Servers in a Data Center Environment
Understanding of Data Center Infrastructure, Data Center Operation, and Data Center Technologies
Knowledge of Fiber Optics and DC power
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a NOC Technician or a similar role in the IT industry.
Proficient in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Cisco Routers, and Cisco Technologies.
Experience with EO/IR systems and Linux Technologies.
Knowledge of AB Testing, Circuit Board, and Computer Hardware.
Familiarity with Configuration Management and Documentation.
Experience with Dell Poweredge Servers and Data Center Environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of Data Center Infrastructure, Data Center Operation, and Data Center Technologies.
Proficiency in Fiber Optics and DC power.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field is preferred.
