Position Overview
This position will be within Magnetar’s Data & Business Intelligence group which is responsible for making data accessible and intelligible to employees across the entire organization. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and an individual who is both technical and enjoys interacting with the business side users of the data. The position will require excellent attention to detail and documentation skills, in-depth knowledge of data warehousing and reporting technologies, as well as the ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment. The role will require knowledge of enterprise data cataloging/governance systems and the best practices for implementing and maintaining such a system.

Position Overview

The role will require knowledge of enterprise data cataloging/governance systems and the best practices for implementing and maintaining such a system.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain a 4th generation data catalog platform which makes use of AI technologies; natural language processing (NLP) and automated data discovery
- Create new and update existing data structures while using best practices for NLP and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Manage and monitor data attributes and definitions within our catalog and oversee change management as needs evolve
- Assist in the design and implementation of data ingestion pipelines, cloud data warehouse / data lake storage solutions while adhering to data governance best practices.
- Own the entire project life cycle from requirements gathering through deployment and maintenance while providing detailed documentation such as user manuals and release notes at each stage.
- Perform a wide range of data related activities such as report building, data analysis and data mining.
- 5-7 years of work experience in financial services field preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- In-depth knowledge of the latest cloud-based data warehousing technologies
- Some experience with generative AI / NLP / RAG technologies
- An understanding of ETL pipelines
- MS SQL Server
- Databricks
- Experience with a BI tool such as Sigma or PowerBI
- Experience with a data catalog platform such as Atlan, Informatica or Secoda
- Python, SQL
- DAX
- C#
- DAGster or Airflow
