Position Overview:
The Data Scientist will assist with complex data cleaning, integration, and analysis of public health data, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure accuracy and fulfillment of business needs for various projects, including COVID-19.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with coursework in biostatistics or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • 4 years of strong data analysis skills in SQL, Tableau, R, RED Cap, and Microsoft Excel
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays
  • 3 years of experience working collaboratively with diverse groups and projects with defined timelines and deadlines simultaneously
Preferred Skills:
  • Master’s Degree with coursework in biostatistics or equivalent
  • 4 years of experience working with health/public health data
Duties:
  • Utilizes analytic and visualization tools (SQL, R, Python, Tableau) for complex data cleaning, integration, and analysis projects, applying coding and statistical methods to meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Coordinates with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to define requirements, organize and lead meetings, present findings, solicit feedback, and establish enhancement cycles.
  • Communicates data project results through visualizations, reports, and presentations to various audiences.
  • Builds relationships and collaborates with diverse internal and external stakeholders including subject-matter experts, data stewards, and others as applicable.
  • Contributes to team documentation by commenting scripts and detailing routine processes, including data cleaning steps, sources, filters, assumptions, and purposes.
  • Proactively identifies process, database, and analysis improvements.
  • Identifies, communicates, and implements innovative strategies without overstepping programmatic ownership.
