The Dean of School Culture at an elementary school is responsible for cultivating and maintaining a positive, inclusive, and academically-focused school environment. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to support student behavior, social-emotional learning, and overall school culture. The Dean works closely with teachers, students, parents, and the administrative team to ensure that the school's mission and values are reflected in every aspect of the school day.
What You Will Be Doing
Fostering a positive and inclusive environment by managing student behavior and enforcing a consistent discipline policy
Monitoring student behavior and intervening as needed
Leading and supporting restorative practices and conflict resolution initiatives
Implementing and supporting social-emotional learning programs
Promoting a culture of respect, responsibility, and high expectations
Providing professional development and collaborating with staff on classroom management
Engaging with parents and the school community
Collecting and analyzing data on school climate and using information to inform decisions and improve initiatives
Monitoring school climate and addressing parent concerns; communicating with parents about school culture and student behavior
Ensuring the school's mission and values are upheld
Experience working with parents and schools in a similar school community;
Experience working in an urban school setting;
A minimum of 3 years of school experience;
Experience with conflict resolution a plus;
Bilingual preferred (but not required)
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with a diverse community of parents, students, and staff.
Ability to move quickly in response to incidents or emergencies.Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and events.
Sensitivity and understanding of cultural differences and the ability to work with a diverse population.
Emotional resilience to navigate the complexities of school culture and effectively support the well-being of students and staff.

To be eligible to work for Pan American Academy Charter School, you must complete and submit background clearances and paperwork prior to your start date. We are able to accept clearances if they are less than one year old from the date a new employee presents them to Human Resources.
