Design Internship (Recent Graduates)
ROLE: Intern- Creative
BRAND: Urban Decay
LOCATION: El Segundo, CA (3 days/week onsite)
POSITION PURPOSE
This 12 Month Creative Intern provides creative and design support to the Global Creative team. The role reports to the AVP Brand Creative and is responsible for assisting in the creation and conceptual development of the brand and seasonal campaign assets. Including brand guideline development, campaign image, and layout design & adaptation for various point of sale or digital needs. Assists creative team in pre and post-production responsibilities for photo& video shoots. Assists in concept development for brand & campaign visuals. Brings a fresh eye and point of view to the Urban Decay Global creative team.
The successful employeeshould be adaptable in using organizational skills to prioritize tasks andopportunistic in taking ownership of various projects. Have the urgencyto anticipate busy schedules and teamwork to communicate with other members ofthe department/store to complete assignments on time and accurately. Possessopenness in their problem solving and integrity in their research toeffectively address the needs of the company. Regular attendance in conformancewith the standards, which may be established by the company from time to time,is essential to the successful performance of this position. .

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education/ Experience/ Licenses Or Certifications
Four-year degree in Graphic Design is strongly preferred, equivalent experience will be considered.
Must be a recent undergraduate with a Bachelor's Degree. Degree must be received within the last 12 months to qualify for the internship program.
Experience in a similar environment at an agency or brand is a plus. In the absence of work experience, a strong student portfolio will be considered as equivalent.

- Eligible only for recent college graduates within the last 12 months.
- Layout - Visual updates and resizing for print campaign collateral with varying visual sizes
- Create visuals or adapt campaign concepts or imagery for secondary digital layouts
- Assists in the creation of brand style guide for Urban Decay; extracting, adapting, and organizing brand elements into a document to share with internal and external partners
- Assists AVP Brand Creative in concept creation and direction for photo and video shoots. Builds mood boards, styling briefs, and lighting direction for photographer; Makes selects from photoshoots and can give retouching notes with alignment from AVP Brand Creative
- Maintains working calendars and timelines to ensure timely and rollouts of all materials
- Archive files and images, maintains in-house archive of seasonal updates (seasonal visuals, seasonal price strips, past projects, etc.)
- Communicates and regularly checks in with the creative team & other teams involved with the projects when necessary
- Cooperates with 360° internal & external stakeholders to guarantee a consistent brand’s expression
- Create guidelines for the countries to guide them in the use of visuals in POS
- Build and deliver communication tools, within the right timing and budget
- Listen to design trends and digital innovation
- These job responsibilities are subject to change in accordance with business necessities.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- The candidate has studied graphic design or a similar degree and has a portfolio that exhibits a solid understanding of brand design and advertising.
- The candidate must show their ability to apply a big idea or creative concept to a execution, with attention to detail and a point of view.
- They are passionate about design, branding, typography, and they keep up with current design trends.
- Excellent layout capabilities and design skills. Understands design and branding, and how to create content for a digital-first brand. While it’s not mandatory that the candidate has photo or video shoot experience, they should show a desire to learn and be a part of the pre- and post-productions processes.
- The candidate is fluent in Adobe Photoshop, Indesign & Illustrator. Added bonus if they can make a PowerPoint look good!
- Passionate and knowledgeable of cosmetics & beauty industry
- Ability to work as a team with departments.
