We are seeking a Designer/Architect who will work with clients to design custom home plans and prepare plans ready for building department approval. The ideal candidate will use their creativity, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients to design custom home plans that meet their needs and preferences.
  • Prepare detailed design plans ready for approval by the building department.
  • Collaborate closely with the construction and project management teams.
  • Ensure designs meet building codes, zoning regulations, and company standards.
  • Conduct site visits as needed to understand project scope and client requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and construction methods.
  • Manage design projects from initial concept through completion.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and regulatory bodies.
  • Use design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) to create and refine plans.
  • Maintain detailed and organized architectural drawings and documentation.
  • Conduct regular reviews to ensure design quality and accuracy.
  • Ensure design plans are cost-effective and feasible within project budgets.
  • Maintain high levels of client satisfaction through effective communication and design solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in architectural design, particularly in residential construction (+5 years).
  • Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction methods.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp).
  • Excellent creativity and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Local to Port Huron or willing to commute daily.
