Who are we hiring?

As part of Sphere Entertainment’s Design and Creative Services team, Designers will craft and design for the most dynamic 360º canvas in the world. They will work with cross-functional teams to research, develop and create experiential concepts and campaigns across a variety of platforms and styles. The visuals will span from branding to identity systems, style frames to storyboards, marketing materials to merchandise, print collateral to websites, pitch decks to vision presentations, digital and social activations to ground-breaking innovations. The work will explore Sphere’s full canvas from the inside out, touching on the Exosphere’s exterior canvas, spatial design for the Atrium, and original immersive experiences inside the Media Plane.

We are looking for curious, experimental and motivated Designers who are self-driven, team players. The ideal candidate brings a solid artistic foundation in 2D and 3D art and design as well as motion design, concept visualization and innovative storytelling.

They will collaborate with the Creative Directors and Art Directors to ideate and express visual concepts during the creative development phase and contribute to the visualization and execution of an idea across brand and marketing experiences.

They have a broad range of skills including a keen eye for modern design that breaks the mold, a deep sense of beauty and aesthetics that redefines the norm, and an innate sense of form, image-making, typography, grid systems, motion and movement that pushes creative boundaries. They should be trend aware, innovative and progressive in their approach.

What will you do?

  • Take direction from Creative Director and/or Art Director in the design and execution of original, scalable animated and experiential content across the spectrum of vision, storytelling, and concepting
  • Develop and design a dynamic, multi-platform brand identity system for Sphere across environmental, web, print, mobile, merchandise etc.
  • Design experiential thinking across a variety of projects from Sphere brand to original Sphere IP, Art and Promo content to brand marketing partnerships
  • Design, sketch, illustrate concepts and ideas with a high level of visual storytelling
  • Develop storyboards, animatics and production-ready motion designs
  • Collaborate with project teams in research, ideation and development of original, scalable concepts and immersive experiences for various media including brand identity, motion graphics, screens, installations, and digital innovations
  • Research and prepare creative pitch decks to communicate ideas to art directors, creative directors, stakeholders and clients, including design proposals, concept pitches and vision presentations
  • Identify emerging trends in culture from the worlds of design, art, film and music
  • Ensure that all work meets a high level of creativity, innovation and brand building
  • Receive and discuss feedback on design with an open mind; be nimble, and able to rapidly pivot

What do you need to succeed?

  • 3-5+ years of experience working in a fast-paced professional creative production studio or agency.
  • Proficient in a variety of mediums and methods to convey ideas and concepts (e.g. storytelling, storyboards, mood boards, concept treatments, mock-ups etc.)
  • Work across a range of specific styles, including a style set by the art director
  • Demonstrated and extensive visual design software proficiency (Adobe Suite, Photoshop, InDesign, Keynote, PowerPoint, Miro, Figma, Illustrator, etc.)
  • 3D modelling, 3D Design and Animation a plus (Blender, C4D, 3DSM, Houdini)
  • Experience in storytelling and concept development with a strong design background; understanding of typography, graphics, layout, form, color and spatialization; well versed in design process and production methods
  • A knack for capturing the spirit of a concept in presentation design format
  • Able to communicate the thinking behind your design process, suggest creative solutions for production methods to remain agile and efficient.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of emerging creative technologies, best practices and experimental approaches in design, marketing and brand communications
  • Is a self-starter, detail-oriented with highly developed organizational skills for proper workflow and process management, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and under short deadlines, able to work in varying degrees of fidelity, from sketching through production (speed vs quality)
