Comevolunteer for a grassroots, Baltimore-based nonprofit that's been featured by organizations such as MTV, Mental Health America, and Zoom! Alston for Athletes mission is to advocate for student-athlete mental health awareness through policy change and providing access to mental health services. We award annual $2,000 scholarships for student-athletes towards mental health services. As a small foundation with minimal funding, our team is comprised of mission-driven volunteers who are mental health advocates.
We are looking for someone to join our Finance & Development team as a Development Coordinator to help solicit potential corporate sponsorship and individual donor contributions. Current or former student-athletes are strongly encouraged to apply!
Job Title: Development Coordinator
Department: Finance & Development
Reports to: Finance & Development Director
Hours: 3-5 hours per week
Minimum Job Requirements
Ability to contribute in a diverse team environment and to exhibit cultural empathy
At least one year of hands-on experience soliciting developing individual donor networks
Strong persuasion and interpersonal communication skills
Bachelor's Degree
Capacity to work remotely and to utilize online platforms (e.g., Monday, Slack, etc.)
Embodiment of the organization's 4A Method: Ambition, Accountability, Awareness, and Achievement
Passion to make an impact in the field of mental health and wellness
Responsibilities
Leveraging personal and professional networks to help build a robust donor base
Developing a customer relationship management database of existing and prospective donors
Proactively building relationships with corporations and foundations to foster future sponsorship opportunities
Attending finance team meetings and presenting relevant updates to the team
Responding to finance-related messages (via Slack platform)
Preferred
Former interscholastic or intercollegiate student-athlete
Self-motivated and open to career growth (via professional development)
Understanding of mental health policies and organization mission (see below)
