JOB TITLE: DMS Assistant Faculty
STATUS: Full Time or Part Time
TYPE: On-Campus/Hybrid as permitted by Director
REPORTS TO: Director of Education
Purpose
Assistant Faculty work closely with faculty members and students, assisting in creating a positive and productive learning environment. Assistant Faculty members will provide academic and administrative support, fostering student engagement and contributing to the success of the department. All faculty are expected to model professionalism in dress, action, and communication. Overall, Assistant Faculty are part of the education support team that helps empower students to achieve their academic goals and prepare them for a future in the medical workforce.

Purpose

Education / Qualifications / Competencies
- Graduate of an accredited sonography program with either an AAS or BS
- Holds current SPI and at least one registry credentials (can be working towards credential with a given deadline)
- 1-2 years clinical experience is preferred
- Must have strong technical skills including all computer applications, internet research, database management, and analytical skills?
- Experienced with Canvas or related LMS usage for instruction (assignments, quizzes, discussion boards, gradebook, modules) is preferred?
- Online, hybrid, remote or blended teaching experience is highly desirable?
- Assist faculty in preparing materials and setting up equipment for lectures, labs or discussions
- Facilitate classroom activities and discussions, promoting student engagement
- Provided on-on-one or small group tutoring and academic assistance to students as needed
- Assists in grading assignments, quizzes, and exams, maintaining accurate records
- Assist students with questions and provide constructive feedback
- Demonstrate respect and empathy towards students, acknowledging and accommodating their diverse personal differences and educational needs?
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure consistency
- Help manage course materials, including distribution and collection of assignments
- Maintain records of student attendance, participation, and performance
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, managing email communication, and organizing course materials
- Serve as a point of contact for student inquiries and refer students to appropriate support services when necessary
- Participate in department meetings and training sessions as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Campus Director, Director of Education, and Program Director

- Must be able to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Can independently move objects up to 25 lbs.
- Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, other office machinery, and perform repetitive motions
- Must have sufficient hearing and speaking ability to communicate in person or on the phone/computer with others
