Creative Social Media Writer/Editor

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Creative Social Media Writer/Editor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling and a knack for creating engaging content that resonates with our audience across various social media platforms. This role focuses on enhancing our brand presence online through innovative copy and compelling narratives. Candidates local to NYC are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain active and engaging presence across multiple social media channels
• Manage website content updates for new acquisitions/collection updates
• Maintain and update social media content calendar
• Create and distribute internal reports for digital media engagement and performance
• Conduct research on artworks in the collection and new acquisitions
• Write engaging short-form social media content tailored for Twitter/X, Instagram, and website
• Craft longer-form press releases, media pitches, and interview material as needed
• Keep track of social media mentions/tags
• Track and archive press coverage
  
  

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate/graduate student or recent graduate with a BA/MA in art, art history, creative writing or related fields
• Fluency across social media platforms and a track record of producing engaging content
• Knowledge or interest of the art world, an awareness of digital art a plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent time management
• Discrete, professional and trustworthy
• Basic graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite a plus)
